Peanut Butter Banana Brownies
I can’t remember the last time a recipe changed my life so significantly. I found this recipe on Pinterest, and was blown away at how amazing these brownies were! I was expecting them to be good, but in a fake dessert kind of way. But no, these are fudgy, chewy, sweet, and peanut buttery. So. Dang. Good.
Here’s why there are so amazing:
They are made with bananas, peanut butter, and coco powder. That’s it! Egg free, dairy free, soy free, vegan, no processed sugars, no trans fats, no binders, nothing unhealthy!
For the absolute best brownies, make sure the bananas are nice and ripe, and mash them as smoothly as you can. You can add protein powder to the mix, but make sure to reduce the cocoa powder so it’s not too grainy. I like to make a large pan of these (double or triple the recipe) and then portion them out for the week. They are a great pre and post workout snack, and so great to have around if you are craving sweets. As with all things, moderation is key. Just because the individual ingredients are healthy doesn’t mean you can overeat them. But a single serving is very satisfying. It’s easy to divide the pan into 3 portions, which works out to 1 banana and a little more than 2 tablespoons of peanut butter.
Please please please try these, you won’t be sorry!
- 3 very ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup nut butter
- 2-4 tablespoons cocoa powder depends how chocolately you like
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt the nutter butter in the microwave or stove top. Peel and mash the bananas as smooth as you can. Add in nut butter and cocoa powder (and protein powder if desired) and mix thoroughly. Place mixture in greased pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.
